If you live in the state of California and are currently receiving public assistance benefits, you’ve probably heard about the new BenefitsCal website that is set to be launched in September 2021.

BenefitsCal.com will replace C4Yourself, YourBenefitsNow, and MyBenefitsCalWIN and will be the main portal to apply for and manage all California public assistance benefits (CalFresh, CalWorks, Medi-CAL, etc).

In this post, we will explain what the BenefitsCal.com website is about, why the new site is being rolled out, when it will be rolled out in each county and how it will affect those who are currently on public assistance or are getting ready to apply.

What is the Benefitscal Website?

The BenefitsCal.org system is a new website that will replace C4Yourself, YourBenefitsNow, and MyBenefitsCalWIN, to provide one unified experience for all Californians to apply for and manage their public assistance benefits.

BenefitsCal.comis a new simple way for your Californians to apply for, view, and renew benefits for health coverage, food, and cash assistance.

BenefitsCal online system will make it easier than ever to:

• Apply online
• Renew your benefits
• Upload documents
• Report changes
• Connect with a caseworker

BenefitsCal will support the following public assistance programs:

• CalFresh
• Medi-Cal/County Medical Services Program (CMSP)
• CalWORKS
• General Aid/General Relief (GA/GR)
• Disaster CalFresh
• Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants (CAPI)

When Can I Start using the BenefitsCal Website?

The BenefitsCal website is being rolled out in stages between September 2021 through 2023.

When you can begin using the BenefitsCal website depends on the current online system your county is using to manage public assistance benefits.

Here’s the schedule of how the BenefitsCal system will be rolled out.

Phase 1 – Counties Currently using the C4Yourself system

On September 27, 2021, C4Yourself becomes BenefitsCal.

Therefore, all counties that are currently using the C4Yourself to manage public assistance programs like CalFresh, CalWorks etc, will be transitioned to the BenefitsCal system.

This means that BenefitsCal.com will also replace the C4Yourself Mobile App.

The good news is that the BenefitsCal site is mobile-friendly and will work great on your smartphone so there is nothing to worry about.

If you are currently using C4Yourself system, starting on September 27, 2021, you will use the BenefitsCal system to:

• Apply online for benefits
• Upload documents
• Report changes
• Renew your benefits
• Contact your caseworker

How to Get ready

Here’s what to do to get ready:

Go to C4Yourself.com.
Make sure you can log in to your C4Yourself account.

What if I don’t remember my username or password?

Go to C4Yourself.com.
Select “Forgot your password?” or “Forgot your username?” and follow the on-screen instructions to reset it.

Starting September 27th, you’ll manage and access your benefits with BenefitsCal.com.

C4Yourself will be shut down on September 23rd, 2021 and you’ll manage and access your benefits with BenefitsCal.com.

Here are the counties that currently use the C4Yourself system that will be moving to BenefitsCal starting on September 27, 2021.

Phase 2 – Counties Currently using the YourBenefitsNow system

Starting in November 2021, YourBenefitsNow is changing to a new website: BenefitsCal.com.

Also, BenefitsCal.com will also replace the DPSS mobile app.

The good news is that the BenefitsCal site is mobile-friendly and will work great on your smartphone so there is nothing to worry about.

If you are currently using YourBenefitsNow system, starting in November 2021, you will use the BenefitsCal system to:

• Apply online for benefits
• Upload documents
• Report changes
• Renew your benefits
• Contact your caseworker

YourBenefitsNow account is for Los Angeles County residents. Starting in November 2021, all Los Angeles County residents will transition to BenefitsCal system.

Starting in 2022 and through 2023, MyBenefits CalWIN is changing to a new website: BenefitsCal.com.
