Re:ZERO − Starting Life in Another World is finally coming back for its third season after more than 4 years since its second installment. The series is one of the most popular isekai ever, so it is high time that such a juggernaut returned to claim its throne.
The third season was announced at AnimeJapan on March 23, 2024, and the news was possibly the biggest one to come out of the event. A short teaser was released but a full trailer and a key visual were not unveiled until today.
Although a specific release date hasn't been announced yet, fans can rejoice knowing that Re:ZERO − Starting Life in Another World season 3 will be released in October 2024. Even among other titan series such as Dragon Ball DAIMA and Dandadan airing in the same month, Re:ZERO will fight for a spot as one of the biggest returns of this year.

Re:ZERO Will Make A Grand Return
Furthermore, it was revealed that episode 1 of season 3 will be a 90-minute special episode, as has become a trend with anime in recent years. It will be released in cinemas only in Japan for 2 weeks starting August 30, 2024. It will also be screened at this year's AnimeExpo 2024 on July 7, 2024. The theatrical release of the first episode is especially exciting given how successful it has been for other series like Oshi No Ko, so fans of Re:ZERO can expect that the 4-year wait was more than worth it.
The previous main cast will be reprising their roles, and there will be additions to the team for new characters. Chika Anzai, a veteran voice actor who's worked on Grand Blue, Hunter X Hunter, and more, will be voicing Sirius. The musician behind Re:ZERO season 1's opening, and also Fairy Tail and No Game No Life, Konomi Suzuki, will perform the opening song titled "Reweave". MYTH & ROID, who've also performed on Re:ZERO, as well as Overload and Made In Abyss, will be in charge of the ending theme titled "NOX LUX".

Fans have been waiting since season 1 for the Royal Selection to kick off, with many candidates competing to become the leader of Lugunica. Many major characters from previous seasons and new exciting ones will meet again as the fate of a nation is decided.
Re:ZERO − Starting Life in Another World season 3 will be the most exciting one yet, and from the looks of the trailer, it will look just as beautiful as its prequels.
